Our STORY

Over two hundred years ago, the Holy Spirit moved on the hearts and souls of the people of New Cumberland, PA. They were individuals determined to live out their faith in a very real and dynamic way. Living on the frontier of Pennsylvania, they gathered in small groups to disciple the community for Christ. They were reignited in their faith at a great revival in 1854 when half of the community gave their lives over to Jesus Christ. Through prayer and obedience to the Holy Spirit, Baughman Church has been a discipling congregation focused on God’s Word and moving with the Holy Spirit to reach the people and the needs of the community. 

Our Wesleyan Heritage

In a world that is ever changing, we are a congregation centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are body of believers who seek to transform our community and the surrounding area for Jesus Christ. We hold that Holy Scripture is God’s eternal Word and His Word should shape society and not society shape scripture. We do this through our Wesleyan heritage where we emphasize connecting the knowledge of God’s Word and placing it into our hearts.

A New Movement

We are not alone in this movement to transform the world for Jesus Christ. We are part of a larger group of churches located throughout the world known as the Global Methodist Church. This fledging denomination was birthed to bring scriptural holiness around the world. We are part of a movement, not simply a denomination.
